Private Doctor Home Visit Helmholtzplatz

The private medical home-visit service in Helmholtzplatz is an acute-care service by RAB Arztbesuche that brings licensed physicians into the Berlin district of Helmholtzplatz within 60 to 90 minutes — daily from 6 am to midnight.

Helmholtzplatz is the second great family island in Prenzlauer Berg — somewhat younger and more urban than Kollwitzplatz, with a dense cafe scene, playgrounds and restored period buildings between Dunckerstrasse, Lychener Strasse and Schliemannstrasse. We look after a growing well-off family clientele. 20 to 30 minutes from Charlottenburg.

Helmholtzplatz — the more urban family island in Prenzlauer Berg

After Kollwitzplatz, Helmholtzplatz is the second great family island in Prenzlauer Berg — somewhat younger, more urban, with a dense cafe scene and many restored buildings between Dunckerstrasse, Lychener Strasse, Schliemannstrasse and Stargarder Strasse. Playgrounds are often full; parents work in media, tech, consulting or academia.

Our patients here are predominantly families aged 30 to 45 with one to three children, often privately insured or holding strong supplementary insurance. Add young professionals in maisonette apartments around Pappelallee and Raumerstrasse. A growing older clientele in legacy apartments completes the picture.

Common reasons at Helmholtzplatz

Paediatric respiratory infections, fever, middle-ear infections, acute bronchitis and gastrointestinal infections account for the majority. With younger adults we treat migraine, exhaustion syndromes, acute infections before trips and follow-up checks for chronic disease.

Family logistics and period-building tips

When booking we clarify front building / side wing, floor and lift. On request we issue daycare certificates with a short findings letter. Billing follows the German GOÄ scale through our Privatärztliche Verrechnungsstelle; statutorily insured patients may receive a self-payer invoice on request.

Route from Charlottenburg to Helmholtzplatz

From Roscherstrasse 3 we take the Tiergarten Tunnel, Invalidenstrasse and Schoenhauser Allee. Arrival 20 to 30 minutes, evenings and weekends often 18 to 22.

Parking during the day is tight on Dunckerstrasse and Lychener Strasse — we often use Pappelallee or Raumerstrasse. For long staircases without lifts please share the floor on the phone.

Emergency? Dial the emergency number

If unconscious, with severe chest pain, breathlessness or heavy bleeding, dial 112 immediately. Our service complements the emergency services — it does not replace them.

Case profiles

Typical scenarios

Family with respiratory infection

A family on Schliemannstrasse has two sick children with cough and fever on Saturday. We come, examine, rule out pneumonia, issue prescriptions and daycare certificates.

A 36-year-old agency owner on Raumerstrasse with persistent exhaustion needs labs and ECG. We come in the morning, issue findings letter, advise on follow-up.

Migraine treatment

A 41-year-old father on Dunckerstrasse with acute migraine attack. We come, treat intravenously so he need not cancel the Sunday family trip.

Senior on Stargarder Strasse
