New Year's Eve Private Doctor Berlin
New Year's Eve Private Doctor Berlin is a seasonal health occasion for which RAB Arztbesuche provides a licensed physician on a home visit anywhere in Berlin — daily from 6 am to midnight, usually within 60 to 90 minutes.
Berlin New Year's Eve is one of the medically most intense nights of the year: fireworks burns, blast trauma, cuts from champagne glasses, alcohol-related circulatory issues, GI problems after buffets. We are available on 31 Dec and 1 Jan like any other day — daily 6 am to midnight.

New Year's Eve in Berlin — peak load for ERs
Berlin emergency rooms regularly see their highest load of the year on New Year's night. Burns, eye injuries and hand trauma from fireworks dominate at night; on New Year's Day circulatory decompensation, migraine, GI illness and alcohol consequences follow. Anyone with non-life-threatening complaints who does not want hours in an ER finds us a better fit.
We are available on 31 December and 1 January like any other day — 6 am to midnight, no holiday surcharge. For minor burns, transient hearing loss, smaller cuts, circulatory weakness and GI complaints we treat on site at the hotel, apartment or guesthouse. We honestly decide which injury belongs in hospital.
Burns — assessing severity
Superficial burns (first degree, redness without blisters) and small second-degree burns under 1 % of body surface can be managed at home. Deeper burns, burns to face, hands, genitals, joints or larger areas belong in a burn unit (Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin Marzahn, BG Klinik, Charité).
Emergencies — call 112
For severe burns, major bleeding, eye injury, persistent altered consciousness, seizure, blast-trauma respiratory distress or suspected alcohol poisoning with unconsciousness, call 112 immediately. Our service complements — it does not replace the emergency service.
How the New Year's Eve house call works
You call, describe the injury or complaint. With clear emergency signs we redirect you to 112. For treatable complaints we agree on a time window — typical New Year's night arrival 60 to 120 minutes depending on traffic and road closures.
On site: wound care, tetanus status check, tetanus vaccination if needed, pain therapy, circulatory stabilisation, anti-emetics, sick leave. GOÄ invoice via the Privatärztliche Verrechnungsstelle at the normal rate.
Emergency? Dial the emergency number
If unconscious, with severe chest pain, breathlessness or heavy bleeding, dial 112 immediately. Our service complements the emergency services — it does not replace them.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly does the doctor arrive on New Year's night?
60 to 120 minutes typical, longer at midnight peak. Closures around Brandenburg Gate, Straße des 17. Juni and the inner city delay things. We say honestly when we realistically arrive.
Which burns can a family doctor manage?
Superficial first-degree burns and smaller second-degree under 1 % of body surface. Deeper burns, burns to face, hands, genitals or joints belong in a specialised clinic.
Do I need a tetanus shot after a cut?
If your last tetanus was more than 5 years ago and the wound was contaminated, yes. We check the vaccine passport and vaccinate on site.
Can you also treat eye injuries?
Not primarily. Eye injuries — including fireworks — belong in an eye clinic (Charité Augenklinik, Vivantes Wenckebach). With suspicion we refer directly.
